In 2017, the global output of stainless steel crude steel reached a record high of nearly 48.1 million tons, an increase of 5% year-on-year.
According to MEPS, by the end of 2018, global stainless steel output will increase by 5%, reaching a new record of approximately 50.5 million tons
Taiwan’s output in 2017 grew by nearly 9% to 1.4 million tons, and the annual growth rate in 2018 is expected to be about 4%.
Following the global financial crisis in 2008-2009, the stainless steel production in South Korea and Taiwan continued to recover.
Last year, South Korea’s output increased by about 6% to 2.4 million tons, while Taiwan’s output increased by nearly 9% to 1.4 million tons.
It is estimated that the annual growth rate of these two countries in 2018 is about 4%
