On May 23th, 2017, the National Customs Commission of Pakistan issued a preliminary investigation of steel anti-dumping, concluded that the Chinese imports of rebar products exist dumping and caused substantial damage to the domestic industry, but it decided not to levy temporary anti-dumping duties. The anti-dumping investigation of the rebar started on November 26th, 2016.
Pakistan launched anti-dumping investigations on imports of steel from China, mainly due to in recent years, the imports of steel from China has been a sharp increase to Pakistan, making local companies think that Chinese steel imports would injury their production operations.
